So stella, your point is that the kids are not to be blamed coz their parents didn't teach them so they are behaving atrociously and they are too young to think for themselves?

Then how about brats who carry on screaming and wail even louder when their parents try to stop them.

look look, it all started with i am usually tolerant with them kids, unless it gets too extreme.

and from then on, it becomes "you're a kid", "you're machiavellian"...

so because i am more tolerant then others, and i choose to place the fault of the young kids who can't account for themselves into the parents i am all those..sigh...

Anyone who is under 21 and who still behaves with poor manners in public is still a kid to me...yes, late teens included. That is why this age group is dealt with differently by the courts, and not just pre-primary schoolers that you keep harping on....or maybe that's your own narrow perspective acting up again. i never ever said that a child shouldn't be physically beaten.

i'm just saying, the fault first and foremost should lie with the parents. and we as outsiders should not take it upon ourselves to teach the child a lesson.

we reprimand the parents, and let them teach themselves.

whether or not it works after that i won't know, because how the child will grow up after that we probably won't know already.

Ok ok anyway I think most people blame the parents first but if the parents try and they still don't behave, they blame the kid. I think that is a very normal reaction.

Anyway, sometimes I think the hardest thing to do is when your friend's kid misbehave and you have to grin and bear with it especially when your frank opinion falls on deaf ears and that they are horrified that you would even consider spanking the child.

sadly, stellagirl, your past caught up with you.. we do perceive you in such a way where anything goes, as long as you get your way and the ends are achieved..

we start to think you side with brats because you are/were one and want to rationalise your own behaviour.. a lot of people do that...

just like hisk.. when he comes in and asks us how to go about getting the 'desired outcome' of a psychological test.. and keeps defending his reasons for trying to achieve the 'correct outcome'...

i'm sure as a child, you'll definitely much prefer it if your own parents taught you a lesson rather then outsiders.

Sometimes it takes an outsider to teach a child because they no longer respect their parents or see their parents as a figure of authority.

I didn't say what I will do. I asked what will you do.
And yes I blame the kid too because it shows what an impertinient brat it is

Also I find that kids, who run around and misbehave, usually all you need to do is to stare at them really hard with a disapproving look or go SHHHHHH or them loudly and they start to behave and run to their parents who will usually go ," See what I tell you about misbehaving" Laughing

How about this...once at the taxi stand I heard this boy about 11 years old..
screaming at his grandmom "I DUN CARE, I WANT TO BUY, YOU BETTER BUY FOR ME" at his highest pitch voice, I presumed..

the few of us at the taxi stand starts taking a few steps away from them....
I was going deaf then...

when the kid has grown up and still behaves in the same way. he is accountable. not that he or she was totally blameless, but majority of it should be with the parents themselves. most kids starts off as brats, but they learn and learn till the day they mature into fine young adults. don't you agree?

i mean seriously, you can blame some 5 yr old for crying and stuff, but do they even know their own mistake?

dude, i did get beaten up when i was young if thats what you wanna know.

it was all about and started with as small kids.

small young kiddies who can't differentiate from right or wrong. and who only exists in their own world,not knowing how their actions will affect others. Neutral

the parents needs to teach em. some will learn just by talking some needs the mroe physical part.

you talk tot he child, he does not learn, thats cause he's ignorant. so the parents needs to explain to them, or even use physical force.

well like most parents their generation, the cane was always use to instill fear and dicipline.
